Come near

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. — James 4:8-10

God has always pursued me. I have never begun by pursuing Him. We love Him, because He first loved us. Repentance is much the same, I do not see, or chose not to see, my sin, until He reveals it to me. When He does, I am once again humbled and overawed at His immense mercy and grace and love towards me. I seek - He shows, I put forth the effort - He does all the work. It has always been this way, it will always be this way. My very best efforts on my own have been wasted years, it is only when I came to God and surrendered, that I have ever succeeded.

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. — Isaiah 55:6-7

Praise God!  I can't wait for tomorrow =]
